Exporting titles

Top  Previous  Next

You can export titles from your personal list of Selected Titles as text, Dublin Core, or RIS files in order to use the bibliographical data in a word processing program or a bibliographic management program.

Dublin Core and RIS files are widespread, standardised exchange formats for bibliographical metadata.

A maximum of 1000 titles can be exported from the list of Selected Titles. Should the list contain more than 1000 titles, only the first thousand are exported.

Exporting the list of Selected Titles

1.Depending on the format to which you want to export your personal list of Selected Titles, click Text, Dublin Core or RIS in the information bar.
A new browser window, containing the exported data, is opened.

2.The next steps are different depending on the export data format you have chosen:

oIf you have exported the data to Dublin Core format:
In your web browser, call up the function File | Save as ... (or the corresponding command). A dialogue box is called up.
Enter a location for saving, the name of the file, and choose the file type XML. Then click Save.
The dialogue box is closed and the exported data is saved as specified.

oIf you have exported the data to Text or RIS format:
In your web browser, use the hotkey Ctrl + A to select the complete list, then use Ctrl + C to copy the selected data to the clipboard.
Open a text editor of your choice, create a new text file and use Ctrl + V to insert the data from the clipboard.
Save the text file with a name of your choice and the file extension ".txt" or ".ris".

3.You can open the file with your word processing program or import it into a bibliographic management program in order to make further use of the bibliographical data.
