Priority of Boolean Operators

During the Advanced Search "AND"- as well as "AND NOT"-links take priority over "OR"-links.

The search term
Subject terms/Classification: translation AND Title/Subtitle: spanish OR Subject terms/Classification: translation AND Title/Subtitle: italian
will deliver about 500 works dealing with translation whose titles contain either the word "spanish" or "italian".

On the other hand the ineffectual query
Subject terms/Classification: translation AND Title/Subtitle: spanish OR Title/Subtitle: italian
will deliver about 4700 titles. This enormous amount of results consists of all works dealing with translation whose titles contain the word "spanish" plus all listed works whose titles contain the word "italian", because the OR-operator is not restricted to subject terms and classification entries.
